On April 15th, 2021 we will start the online course "Wheelchair Dance: History, Theory, Practice" . The course will become an ABC of wheelchair dance for teachers, choreographers, dancers with disabilities, their partners, and parents.
The author and coach of the course Corrie van Hugten (Netherlands) - member of the Presidium of the World Inclusive Dance Association (WIDA), the first woman to dance in a wheelchair with professional dancers, president of the International Wheelchair Dance Foundation, ambassador of wheelchair dancing around the world (Netherlands).

1. The role of wheelchair dance in the rehabilitation of a person with a disability
The personal story of Corrie van Hugten. The history of the development of dance in wheelchairs. The main directions, forms and types of wheelchair dance. Content and procedure of teacher training. The role of wheelchair dancing in improving health and in shaping emotional and social well-being. Who can dance in a wheelchair.
2. Dance wheelchair and sports dance
History of the Netherlands Wheelchair Dance Foundation. Organizational structure of the Paralympic movement in the wheelchair dance. Classification categories in the Paralympic sport of wheelchair dancing. Wheelchairs and assistance to wheelchair dancers. Dance wheelchair (required qualities). How to help a person with a disability move from a wheelchair to a wheelchair.
3. Features of motor rehabilitation and communication with people with disabilities
The specifics of communication with people with disabilities who have various types of disabilities in inclusive dance. People in wheelchairs. People with hearing impairment. 7. Basic exercises of the wheelchair combi dance

8. Training of wheelchair dance coaches
